How to Create a Virtual Card

You can create multiple naira or dollar virtual cards on your Bloc Dashboard for your different business expenses, and this is very easy to do.

Here's how to create your card:

  1. Navigate to My Cards page on the left navigation bar of your Bloc Dashboard

  1. Click on Create a new card at the top right of your screen
  2. Choose if you would like to create a naira (NGN) or dollar (USD) card in the panel that opens.

  1. Select the team member you are creating this card for. If you have not invited your team members to perform transactions with you on the Dashboard, you can simply assign the card to yourself.
  1. Click on Create card, and it's done! A new card with the cardholder named after the teammate you just selected will be created immediately.

Please note:

We charge:

  • 50 NGN card issuance fee for new Naira card creation.
  • 1.00 USD issuance fee for every Dollar card creation.
  • New USD cards require a minimum balance of $5 to be created. You’ll be able to spend your $5 after it’s been created.

These fees are usually deducted from your main balance. For more on this, please visit our pricing page for more information.

  1. Your teammate can navigate to the My Cards page and click on the "more" icon next to their card to view their card details or fund their card.

How to View Your Cards

To view all the virtual cards you have created on Bloc, go to the My Cards page.

You will see a list of all the cards you have created in a table.

Here's a short description of the table columns:

  1. Cardholder: This is the name of the teammate you have assigned to manage a particular card. This teammate has permission to carry out transactions on this card.
  2. Brand: This is the brand of card issued. NGN cards are issued by Verve, while USD cards are issued by Mastercard.
  3. Card Number: This is the 16-digit number of the card. 6 digits are hidden for security purposes. To view a card's details, the cardholder can click the "more" icon on their card and click on view card details.
  4. Card Balance: This is the amount of money available on the card. This amount can be withdrawn or increased by funding the card.
  5. Status: This describes if the card is still active or not. A card can either be active or frozen. An active card can perform transactions, while all transactions made on a frozen Virtual Card will be declined until you unfreeze it. Please note that the freeze functionality only freezes your Virtual Card. It doesn't freeze other cardholder's cards.
  6. Date created: This refers to the date the card was created.
